The day after President Barack Obama's inauguration Jan. 21, 2009, Marilyn Lee began a portrait quilt to commemorate the historic event. Hundreds of pieces, including 500 pieces in 17 shades to make up the president's picture, depict stars, flags and other patriotic motifs.
