Larson receives national honor
BEMIDJI — The Minnesota Department of Health recently congratulated Warren Larson, chairman of the Minnesota Cancer Alliance, for earning the 2013 C-Change Comprehensive Cancer Control Champion Award. The Comprehensive Cancer Control Champion Award recognizes a volunteer coalition member or partner who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to advance projects or actions related to cancer identification, treatment, and prevention.
“This is a well-deserved national recognition. When Minnesota has needed someone to serve, Warren has answered the call by being a committed volunteer, leader, and advocate for community health and cancer prevention,” said Dr. Ed Ehlinger, Minnesota Commissioner of Health. Larson, director of Public Affairs at Sanford Health in Bemidji, has a personal stake in cancer, as both he and his wife, Laine, are cancer survivors.
