Laporte man convicted of criminal sexual conduct
A 59-year-old Laporte man has been convicted of two felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to a press release from the Hubbard County Attorney's Office:
Boyd Dean Beck was convicted this week of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 13 following a two-day jury trial.
Assistant County Attorney Erika Randall tried the case with the assistance of County Attorney Don Dearstyne.
After the jury's verdict, Randall asked the Court to remand the defendant to jail pending sentencing but the judge.
The defendant will remain at liberty, pending sentencing, which is scheduled for Aug. 15.
The case was investigated by the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
