Laporte hosts annual TKF event June 9

LAPORTE - Youngsters ages 10 to 15 are invited to participate in the second annual Laporte area Take a Kid Fishing event June 9 on Garfield Lake.

Applications, which are available from Dwight Powell at 224-3367 or Judy Honer at 224-2732, must be submitted by May 30. Anyone who wishes to guide can also volunteer by calling those numbers.

The event begins at noon and the young anglers and their guides will fish until 5 p.m. The day will end with a fish fry supper.

Each boat will have two guides and one or two anglers.
