The House, led by Republicans, has proposed a $280 million bonding bill that is nearly $500 million smaller than what Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton proposed. The Senate has yet to release its bonding bill.

Local projects fared better in the House bill than in Dayton's bill.

The House proposes $3 million to fund the construction of a new building for Lakeland TV, which now is housed on the Bemidji State University campus.

The House also allocated $3.3 million to BSU to demolish Maple Hall and renovated Memorial hall for business and accounting.

The bill also fulfills a request from Rep. Dave Hancock, R-Bemidji, for $250,000 for pre-design work for a Northern Minnesota Veterans Home.
