Lake Itasca music festival returns Friday
BEMIDJI -- The ninth annual Lake Itasca Family Music Festival will be Friday through Sunday at the Pioneer Farmers grounds near the north entrance to the park.
The family oriented event features bluegrass and traditional gospel music on several stages.
Bands come from Minnesota and all over the country, including Southern Raised, The Durocher Family, The Garms Family and The Wissmann Family, to name just a few.
There are several stages and music will be going on throughout each day. In addition, there will be music workshops and music theater, as well as jam sessions and contests. There also will be food vendors on site.
A weekend pass is $20 and a family weekend pass is $65. (Children 12 and younger are free.) One days passes are $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday. Camping is available for $10 for rough camping and $20 for RV camping (no hookups.)
As it is a family event, there are is no alcohol or drugs permitted, as well as no smoking and organizers ask that you keep pets at home for the event.
