Lacrosse camp July 30 in Cass Lake
CASS LAKE - A lacrosse fundamental stick handling skills camp will be held Tuesday, July 30 at the Leech Lake Veterans Memorial baseball field here.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and the camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.
Kyle Fiat, a former National and Major League lacrosse player and a member of the 2007 Team USA World Indoor Lacrosse Championship squad, will be the guest instructor.
The lacrosse camp is open for boys and girls ages 6 to 18. The cost for the no-contact session is $15. Lacrosse sticks are available to use at no charge but there is also an option to purchase a stick. There will be a limited supply sticks on site.
The lacrosse camp is presented by two new lacrosse associations that are being formed in northern Minnesota and will be based in Bemidji.
Minnesota Indigenous Lacrosse is focusing on Native American youth on the 11 tribal reservation communities and North Central Lacrosse is focusing on introducing lacrosse to schools and communities that may be interested in developing teams in north-central Minnesota.
