The new addition will feature a live bear study facility as well as classrooms, offices and nature panorama displays featuring Northwoods scenes. The architect is Grand Rapids, Minn.-based DSGW. The project will begin in October and is expected to be completed in June.

The North American Bear Center (www.bear.org) advances the long-term survival of bears worldwide by replacing misconceptions with scientific facts about bears, their role in ecosystems and their relations with humans.
