Kim Diane Sundeen was born to Cecil and Agnes (Swanke) Sundeen on Aug. 14, 1962 in Fargo. She was raised in Tower City, N.D., and graduated from Leola (S.D.) High School. Kim lived most of her adult life in Fargo, where she was employed with Northwestern Bell and Qwest for over 20 years. She married Darryl Stoen on March 25, 2005 in Fargo and they made their home in Fargo until a Qwest transfer took them to Duluth in April 2008.

Kim enjoyed photography, crocheting, floral arranging and collecting angels, which had a special meaning for her. Always outgoing and friendly, family and friends were very important to her, and she always kept in touch by phone and visits. She had a wonderful smile and was always ready to pose if someone had a camera. She liked authoring poems and reading them as tributes to family and friends.

Kim is survived by her husband, Darryl Stoen of Duluth; a daughter, Kristi Joy Heyd of South Korea; her father and stepmother, Cecil and Dorina Sundeen of Detroit Lakes; three sisters, Cindy (Rahe) Clancy of Severra Park, Md., Candice (Kevin) Schwarzrock of Detroit Lakes and Sheila (Jon) Amundson of Tacoma, Wash.; a stepson, Alex Hawk of St. Cloud and a step-granddaughter; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Agnes Sundeen and a brother, Stanley Sundeen.

Memorials are preferred sent to Grace Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy may be sent in care of Candice Schwarzrock at 300 Bowling Ave., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes; there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.
