Kenneth Charles Kosobud, 66, of Bemidji, died after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis, Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
A funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji with the Rev. James Darchuk officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
He was born Jan. 12, 1943, in Park River, N.D. He grew up and graduated in 1961 from Adams High School in Adams, N.D. On April 20, 1963, he married Kathryn Westberg in Adams, N.D. He was employed by the Robertson Lumber Company and remained with the company until 1986. While working for the company he lived in Walhalla, Munich, Grafton and Bemidji. He worked for the Cass Lake Building Center in Cass Lake from 1986 until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, traveling, reading and dancing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Bemidji, Jaycee's, Elks and Eagles and served on the Board of Directors for the Headwaters Builders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Kosobud of Bemidji; son, Kevin (Kathleen) Kosobud of Lake Shore, Minn.; daughter, Karrie (Jerry) Meland of Bemidji; four grandchildren and a brother, Arnold Kosobud of Bismarck, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon; his grandparents and a special friend, David Wick.
