Kelliher resident named bowling champ
Julie Thayer, 61, of Kelliher was awarded Division I Handicap Champion at the Minnesota State United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Women's Championship.
Thayer bowled an average of 165 at the tournament with game points of 248, 177 and 211, respectively.
Thayer was invited to attend the Banquet of Champions held on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Treasure Island Resort and Casino to receive her award.
Several years ago, Thayer underwent a total hip replacement on one side of her body. She grandmother to 13 children and another on the way.
