Kelliher FCCLA members earn Gold

On Feb. 17, the Region 7 Mid-Winter FCCLA meeting was held in Deer River. The Kelliher Chapter entered 12 members in STAR events. These are projects and presentations that students develop.

Earning gold medals and advancing to state were:

• Katey Lutz and Cassie Vollhaber --Chapter Showcase Manual Sr. This was a scrapbook of all the activities members have partipated in.

• Alisha Gehlert and Ann Poxleitner -- Focus on Children Sr. worked with Preschoolers on reading and hosted the annual Dr. Seuss's Birthday Party.

• Charlie Schuh -- Career Investigation, Sr. He created a portfolio on becoming a lawyer.

• Mark Geerdes, Alex Nistler and Mitchell Nistler -- Applied Technology, Jr. Final Addresses is a project where they are updating cemetery records.

• Shelene Head and Heather Van Wert -- See What We've Done Jr. This teaches Protecting You/Protecting Me Program to first through fourth graders with their peers.

• Mandy Pula and Kendra Krogseng -- Illustrated Talk, Jr. Stopping Gossip was their event.

Members will present their STAR events at the Minnesota State FCCLA Convention April 15-17 at the Sheraton, Bloomington Hotel.
