On June 21, 1989 Karranda was born in Bemidji, MN to Randy and Karrie Gieser. After attending Northome High School and graduating in 2007 Karranda married Dennis on June 26, 2007. Dennis and Karranda had two beautiful boys, Zephaniah and Josiah, in their seven years of marriage together. Later Karranda attended Kaplan University and obtained a Real Estate Appraisal Degree.

Karranda was known for being a strong, devoted Christian and attended Calvary Covenant Church in Northome, MN. She was on the board of her church, and also organized youth activities.

Along with her faith and commitment to her church Karranda was a very hard working young woman. She was employed at Bowens Lodge in Deer River, MN for several years. While working there she touched many lives by spreading Gods love.

Because of her love for horses Karranda was led to volunteer many hours at a local not-for-profit horse ranch. While volunteering there she helped mentally and emotionally challenged children to enjoy the horses in whatever capacity they were comfortable with. Karranda also enjoyed taking her horse Kizzy to ranch sorting events on Saturdays.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Skaug; her two sons Zephaniah (age 4) and Josiah (age 2); her parents Randy and Karrie Gieser; siblings Karen (Scott) Merrill, Luke Gieser, Brandon (Rachel) Gieser, and Danette Gieser.

Funeral services will be held February 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical Free Church in Blackduck, MN. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. The graveside/burial will be at Ardenhurst Alvwood Cemetery following the services. A reception will follow back at the Evangelical Free Church.
