JV soccer team blanks Little Falls

The Bemidji girls junior varsity soccer team opened its season Friday with a 10-0 home victory over Little Falls.

Essie Wall scored four goals for the Jacks and Sara Ludlow tallied three. Sequoia Woods, Kaila Long Voelkner and Jillian Ricci each had one.

Casey Palmer and Whitney Morin split the goalie duties.

The boys JV team also won Friday, nipping the Flyers 1-0. Alex Schussman scored the lone goal on a breakaway.

Saturday BHS tied 2-2 with Hillcrest Lutheran Academy.

Bemidji dropped each of the volleyball preliminaries Friday night at Perham.

The junior varsity lost 16-25, 25-17, 15-13 while the B-team fell 23-25, 25-20, 15-9. The freshman squad also was a 3-set victim, losing 25-15, 19-25, 15-13.
