Julius Chris "Junior" Schoenborn Jr.
Julius Chris "Junior" Schoenborn Jr., 42, of Red Lake, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his home in Red Lake.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake with the Rev. Pat Sullivan officiating. A wake will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Red Lake Community Center and continue until the time of services. Burial will be in his Family Burial Grounds in Red Lake under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
The pallbearers will be Tim Barrett, Travis Schoenborn, Jared Schoenborn, Marcus Schoenborn, Chris Reyes Sr., Fred Donnell, Carson Schoenborn, Dennis Robertson, and alternate, David Schoenborn Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyrone Schoenborn Sr., Georgette Robertson, Alvin Johnson, Rochelle Kingbird, Kelly Schoenborn, Nicole S. Beaulieu, Sophia Schoenborn, Jennifer Schoenborn, Sharon Beaulieu, Amber Schoenborn and Shannon Schoenborn.
He was born Feb. 10, 1966, to Julius and Elaine (Donnell) Schoenborn Sr. in Chicago, Ill. He moved with his family to Red Lake in 1970, where he attended school. He was the homecoming king his senior year, graduating from Red Lake High School in 1984. He attended school for more than a year learning to become a carpenter. He went on to work at Red Lake Housing and as an independent carpenter. He worked for a time at the Pre-Fab Plant in Redby and was also a commercial fisherman. Most recently, he was a logger along with his father, until his father died. He made a point to call his family members every day to tell them he loved them. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Robertson of Red Lake; sons, Jeff (Joy) Schoenborn of Red Lake, Julius Schoenborn IV of Red Lake and Joseph Holds The Enemy of Bemidji; daughters, Billie Jean (Chris Reyes Sr.) Schoenborn of Red Lake, Delainey Schoenborn of Red Lake, Julie Schoenborn of Red Lake, Autumn Schoenborn of Red Lake, Stefanie Holds The Enemy of Bemidji; sisters, Janice (Martin) Parkhurst of Fridley, Minn., Cheryl (Oran Beaulieu) Schoenborn of Red Lake, Leah (Ron) Loud of Fridley, Sharon (Roman III) Stately of Red Lake; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Julius Schoenborn III; sister, Karen Schoenborn; and brother, David Schoenborn Sr.
