Joyce Millar, 87, of Bemidji, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Derek Claypool and Pastor Bill Goodman officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Trinity Free Lutheran Cemetery, Pony Lake, MN.
Joyce Ethelyn Rose was born November 17, 1925 in Donnybrook, ND to Ira and Celia (Sykes) Rose. She graduated from Donnybrook High School. She lived on a farm in Eckles Township and moved to a farm in Liberty Township. On October 22, 1946 she married Eddy Millar in Pinewood, MN. She worked at J.C. Penney in the fabric department and Minnesota Wood Products making Christmas wreaths. She was a member of Pony Lake Lutheran Church and attended Faith Baptist Church for the last 2 years. Joyce sang with the Pony Lake Ladies Group, was a member of Care & Share Club and a member of the Pine Tree Squares square dancers for 20 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Gary) Johnson of Bemidji and Karen Millar of New Brighton, MN; 9 grandchildren; 23, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddy; son, Russell; brother, Merrill; sisters, Gladys, Hazel, Marjorie and Mildred.
The family prefers memorials.
