Joyce Howe, 59, of Turtle River, MN, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Marotte officiating. A Time of Sharing will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the funeral home.
Joyce Michealine Vest was born October 12, 1953 in Connersville, IN to Lilburne and Lois (Revelee) Vest. She grew up in Illinois and attended Lyons Township High School in Lagrange, IL. Joyce married Richard Howe Sr. in Joliet, IL. They lived in Joliet, Cicero, IL and then to Turtle River, MN. She worked as a seamstress for Anderson Fabrics in Blackduck for the past 22 years, retiring in June 2012. She enjoyed bowling and was the Bemidji Junior Bowlers Secretary and Treasurer for 13 years. Joyce enjoyed the outdoors, picnics and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Howe Sr., Turtle River; daughter, Jamie (Steve) Beauchene of Bemidji; sons, Richard Howe Jr., of Bemidji and Eric Howe of Turtle River; 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Jerrick and Jaslynn; brothers, Steve (Lynn) Evitts of Johnston, IA, Don (Pam Evitts) of Bemidji and Leo (Brenda) Evitts of Bemidji; sister, Melanie (Grant) Stokes of Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lilburne Vest and Mother, Lois Evitts.
