Joyce Constenius passed away at The Golden Living Center in Walker, MN on Sunday March 2, 2014.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Joyce Ann Schlueger was born to Conrad and Marie (Alborn) Schleuger on November 21, 1940 in Britt, IA. In 1954 the family moved to Bemidji and Joyce graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958. She graduated from Minneapolis Community College in 1979 with a nursing degree. She worked at Beltrami County Nursing Home for many years. She graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree social work. Joyce pursued her dream of moving to Alaska in 1998. Joyce was a member of the Alano Society in Bemidji, MN. She had recently celebrated 36 proud years of sobriety. She liked to fish, go on trips, bingo, garage sales, auctions and spending time with family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her brother, James Schleuger of Duluth, MN; sister, Jan (Eric) Blomberg of California; daughter, Susan (Gerry) McGill, of Texas; son, Kelly (Laura) Constenius of Braham, MN; daughter, Mindy (Jim) Holt, of Wisc.; daughter, Kathy (Ernest) Schroeder of St Francis, MN; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family thanks all of the wonderful friends who have been there to support Joyce during the last months of her life. With special thanks to Patt Pederson and Verna Olson.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Marie Schleuger; sister in law, Sandra (Williams) Schleuger.
