Joseph Andrew Goose, 69, of Columbia Heights, Minn., formerly of Cass Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at the Facility Center in Cass Lake with the Rev. Harold Eaglebull and the Rev. John Rock officiating. A wake service will begin at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Facility Center in Cass Lake, and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in Ryan's Village Cemetery in Bena.

The pallbearers will be Timothy J. Goose, Elias J. Raisch-Goose, Elias R. Goose, Quanah J. Goose, Jeff Goose, Adrian (Guy) White Sr., Gary C. Hunt, Marvin Hanson and Myron J. Harrison Jr.

Arrangements were made with the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.

He was born Aug. 16, 1940, to Paul Goose and Rose Smith in Cass Lake. He grew up in the Cass Lake and Onigum areas. He also attended school in Duluth and in the mid-60s moved to Minneapolis, where he lived until his death. His hobbies were working on cars, going to the casino and playing bingo. He had many jobs. He worked as a logger for several years and also did some landscaping. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, playing with his dog and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Hunt; sons, Timothy (Rhonda) J. Goose, Elias J. Raisch-Goose and Dana Wakemup-Goose; daughters, Corinne (Jerry) F. Goose. Andrea R. Goose, Jolene (Roger) A. Goose, Laurie M. Raisch-Goose, Shauncie and Cadence; step-sons, Gary C. Hunt and Mark A. Hunt; step- daughter; Sherrie Hunt-Miller; 23 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Simon T. Smith and Daniel Hardy; and two grandchildren.
