John Clifford Foley, 70, of Bemidji died Saturday, May 18, 2013.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The American Legion post # 14 of Bemidji will provide honors.
John was born October 12, 1942 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of Jerry and Kathleen (Clifford) Foley. He was raised and educated in the St. Louis area. He married Janet Larson in the early 1960s. He served our country with the US Air Force from 1961-1971 and was stationed in Turkey. He worked as a Budget Officer with the Indian Health Service starting in 1971 in Grand Forks, Aberdeen and then in 1974 moved to Bemidji, retiring in 1996. He loved hunting and fishing and especially cooking. His passion was to make sure everyone always had a lot of good food to eat. He was a very giving man, not selfish and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an amazingly kind and caring person to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife: Janet Foley of Bemidji Daughter: Teresa (Bill Nelson) Foley of Bemidji Son: David (Diane) Foley of Blaine 5 grandchildren Siblings: Joanne (Tom) Murphy Kitty Kathleen (Tom) Kinkel Eddie (Sharon) Foley all of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sissy Foley and brothers Danny and Butch Foley.
