Joann M. Swenson, age 74 of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Evangelical Free Church, Bemidji with Pastor Fred Martin officiating. Immediate family will greet friends & family for one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be in Frohn Eastside Cemetery under the direction of the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Joann Marlene LaCroix was born February 28, 1940 in Bemidji, MN to Clarence & Celesta (Johnson) LaCroix. She grew up in Bemidji MN where she attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High school in 1958. Joann married Jerome Olson in 1958 in Bemidji. She had multiple positions at different businesses around Bemidji throughout her life. She married Chuck Swenson May 13, 1972 in Bemidji. She has worked over the past 14 years in various positions at the Palace Casino and retired as The Bingo Manager. In retirement she worked at Twice But Nice for her good friend Darla. Joann enjoyed watching her grandchildren play and excel in sports. One of her greatest joys of each year was to see the happiness on her kids and grandkids faces over the Christmas holidays. She enjoyed shopping with her sister Debbie. She was known to have a large photo collection, she loved taking pictures. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and distinctive laugh.

Survived by her husband Chuck Swenson, Bemidji; daughters Tracy (Jim) Hirt, Bemidji; Tina (Jay) Huseby, Bemidji; sons Dan (Jill) Olson, Winston-Salem NC; Ken (Alicia) Olson, San Antonio, TX & Scott (Carolyn) Olson, New Orleans, LA. Sister Debbie Stangel, Bemidji and brother Richard (Kathy) LaCroix, Bemidji. 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Parents, Clarence "Clink" & Celesta "Toots" LaCroix; Husband Jerome Olson, Sisters Kris Steiner and Mary LaCroix and son in law Todd Johnson.
