Jimmies top Beavers in OT
The Bemidji State women's basketball team lost to defending Dakota Athletic Conference champion Jamestown College 80-75 in overtime in exhibition play Thursday night at BSU Gymnasium.
The game was tied 67-67 at the end of regulation and Jamestown pulled away by starting the overtime period with a 7-3 run.
Carley Jensen led the Jimmies with a game high 15 points. Kayla Roemmich had 13 points. Bridget Shuneman and Casey Geffre each had 12 points.
Anna Hebrink and Jessie Althoff had 14 points to lead Bemidji State's offense. Taylor Davis had 12 points and Melissa Borstner had 10 points.
Jamestown won the rebounding battle 61-50 in the game and outshot the Beavers by a 50-22.2 percent margin from the field
The Jimmies were 3-of-6 from field goal range and connected on its lone 3-point attempt in overtime while the Beavers were 2-of-9.
BSU led 29-25 at halftime.
The game marked the return of Bemidji High School graduate and current Jamestown sophomore Megan Larson. She started the game and finished with seven points and two rebounds. She played 25 minutes in the game.
The Beavers wrap up preseason exhibition play against Division I South Dakota State next Thursday in Brookings.
Bemidji State opens the regular season Nov. 16 at BSU Gymnasium with a non-conference game against Mayville State.
