Jesse Allen Grimsley was born December 10, 1981, in Bemidji, MN, to Ricky and Mary Jo (Johnson) Grimsley. He attended Solway Elementary School and Bemidji High School. Jesse married Trish Perry August 11, 2007 on Bunker Hill near where they made their home in Pinewood. They had a unique real love and still acted like newlyweds, even after six years. When they married, Jesse, who always had a way with kids, became an exemplary father to Hailey. Their relationship was strong, and he taught Hailey many of her first life experiences, from driving a Bobcat to shooting her first deer. The two of them shared a unique sense of humor and a special bond.
Jesse had many hobbies and interests including rat rods and shooting guns; however, he mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, back-roading, and anything outdoors. His brothers describe him as helpful, strong, dependable, loyal and someone they aspired to be like. From birth, Jesse fought hard and worked even harder. His strong work ethic was evident even at an early age. Jesse was a pipeline operator for the past 5 1/2 years for various companies but most recently the Sheehan Pipeline Company. Jesses crew said they loved working with him because he was good at what he did and when they needed something done, they asked Jesse. Everyone who met Jesse was touched by his humor, his infectious laughter, the mischievous glint in his eyes, and his way of defying boundaries and rising to challenges.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Trish Grimsley of Pinewood, MN; daughter, Hailey Perry-Miller of Pinewood, MN; parents, Ricky & Mary Jo Grimsley of Bemidji; brothers, Brady (Brandi) Grimsley of Bemidji, Barry (Jessa) Grimsley of Nashville, TN and Cody Grimsley of Bemidji; paternal grandmother, Viola Grimsley of Bemidji; father & mother-in-law, Ken & Helen Perry of Shevlin; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Paul) Beyer of Fargo, ND and Rachel (Aaron) Bolter of Dayton, WY.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stanton (Bud) & Bernice Johnson; paternal grandfather, Everett Grimsley, and several aunts and uncles.
