Jefferson to stop bus service to 3 cities
Jefferson Lines will discontinue bus service to Shevlin, Mentor and McIntosh next month.
The company announced the change, effective April 1, in a news release issued Wednesday.
Jefferson Lines said it would continue providing service and boarding locations in Bemidji, Bagley, Fosston and Crookston.
"Discontinuing service to a community is never a decision we take lightly," Kevin John, director of sales and service for Jefferson Lines, said in the release. "We researched a variety of factors including fuel costs, ridership numbers and customer demand and determined this course of action will allow us to better meet the needs of our customers."
Jefferson Lines, a Minneapolis-based intercity bus company, provides service to more than 170 communities in 13 states.
