Jefferson Avenue South bridge in Bemidji remains closed this week

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Bemidji area residents who use the Jefferson Avenue South bridge that crosses over the Highway 2 bypass will need to continue using the Carr Lake Road detour this week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Progress on the bridge repair was delayed due to weather and schedule adjustments.

Curing of the concrete is done, but work to be completed this week includes sealing the joints, installation of guardrail, paving and painting, according to a new release.

The bridge is expected to re-open within two to five days.
