Jayse Antoine Joseph
Jayse Antoine Joseph, whose Indian name is Wegadabiiyose, which means walks softly on water, 18 months, of Deer River, Minn., died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bena Community Center in Bena. A wake will begin at noon Sunday at the Bena Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Ball Club Cemetery in Ball Club under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
He was born Sept. 8, 2007, in Deer River. He enjoyed going to grandma's house and playing with his friends.
He is survived by his mother, Rosanne (Justin) Joseph; father, Douglas Kingbird Jr.; grandparents, Candace Partridge-Gotchie, Desmond Joseph, Ramona Smith and Douglas Fairbanks Sr.; and aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
