Jacqueline "Jackie" Joan Lambert, 71, of Nimrod, formerly of Harrison, Ark., died Monday, April 13, 2009 at Lakewood Health Systems Hospital in Staples.
She was born Feb. 3, 1938 to Albert and Florence (Garner) Carr in LaCrosse, Kan. She attended public school in Wichita, Kan., where she graduated from West High School in 1955. She married Wayne Huffman in 1960. She had three children: Myra and Rex Brown, and Wayne Huffman. The young family made their home in Diamond City, Ark.
She worked for Dr. Samuel Scroggins as the office manager of his medical clinic in Harrison, Ark. in a career that spanned 27 years. Her son, Wayne, and husband, Wayne, died in 1993.
She married Roger Lambert on Jan. 20, 1995 in Diamond City. In May of 1995, the couple ventured north to Minnesota and settled on a small ranch near Nimrod where they raised thoroughbred racehorses and emus.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Nimrod; a daughter, Myra Lynn (Gary) Brisco, of Harrison, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Paulette (Orben) Toliver, of Fort Smith, Ariz.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her mother, Florence Carr, of Jonesboro, Ark.; two step-children: Roger Jr. (Laura) Lambert, of San Francisco, Calif., and Rebecca (Mike) Hopkins, of Marian, Ark.; a brother, Jim (Dorothy) Carr, of Jonesboro, Ark.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father; her son, Wayne; and her husband, Wayne.
Casket bearers: Gary and GT Brisco, Sherri and Wes Townsend, Katrina and Joe Parrott, Andrea and Derik Breiner, Sydney Toliver, Roger and Laura Lambert, Rebecca and Mike Hopkins, Duane Swanson, Lou and Mark Lambert, and Barbara Beard.
Funeral service and interment: 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21 at Milum Cemetery in Leadhill, Ark.
