It's official: Favre won't play in Vikings' finale today

Veteran quarterback Brett Favre will be on the sidelines today when the Minnesota Vikings meet the Detroit Lions in a National Football League game at Detroit. A concussion suffered in the game two weeks ago against Chicago has ended Favre's season.

Favre was listed as inactive on the Vikings website about 90 minutes before the scheduled noon kickoff.

The quarterback has said this will be his last season in the league.
