Itasca Park to host Tour De Pines bike tour

Officials of Hostelling International, operators of the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel in Itasca State Park, are hosting the second annual Tour De Pines Bike Tour Aug. 21 at the park.

The ride will start and end at the hostel and participants may choose to bike 25, 50 or 75 miles. Rest stops with food and beverages will be provided and mechanic and sag support will be available.

Following the ride participants are invited to a bar-be-que supper.

The ride will showcase Itasca State Park and the surrounding area.

Participants may register at the hostel beginning at 7:30 a.m. Advanced registration fees are $40 for adults and $20 for riders 17 and under. Registration fees the day of the race are $50 and $25.

Proceeds from the bike tour will help support the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel, a non-profit organization.
