Detroit Lakes native Irving L. Vogt, 77, of Pueblo, Colo., died Tuesday, April 8, 2008.
Irving was born to Gordon and Edwina Vogt on Nov. 27, 1930 in Detroit Lakes, and attended school in the Detroit Lakes area. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946, and spent 23 years in military service. He played and sang with several bands. Irving retired on Nov. 1, 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son Bradley (Sandy) Vogt of Champlin, Minn.; daughter Christine (Roger) Luebben of Browerville, Minn.; three stepchildren, Patricia, Rolland and Randy Anders, all of Colorado; one brother, Dennis Vogt of Minneapolis; two sisters, Betty Wischnak of Detroit Lakes and Lois Tucker of Jefferson, Wis.; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Irving in death were his parents; two brothers, Robert and James Vogt; and one sister, Doris Irey.
Services are planned for Monday, April 14 in Pueblo, Colo.; burial will take place in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul, at a later date.
