For inequality to exist, just say nothing
The writer of this brief memo is the individual who has been publically accused in a letter to the editor (Aug. 16) of being mean and hurtful to Fr. Don Braukmann.
So be it. I consider myself thoroughly chastised. I stand by every written word — refuse to retract my opinions and/or my views and have nothing to be ashamed about.
If a man of the cloth can’t stand the heat of an opposing view he should stay behind the doors of his palatial rectory instead of stepping out into the public domain becoming a self-appointed spokesman for the Catholic church.
In order for bigotry and inequality to exist in our culture all it takes is for good men and women to stand by, kowtow to the Catholic church and say nothing. Case closed.
