Indoor football: Axemen lose to Nebraska
GRAND ISLAND, Neb — The Nebraska Danger spotted Bemidji a 7-0 lead when Maurice Patterson caught a pass from Hunter Wanket but the home team controlled play the rest of the way and cruised past the Axemen 43-19 Saturday.
Bemidji fell to 1-1 and will hope to regain its winning ways March 15 when it hosts Wyoming.
Nebraska will visit Bemidji on March 21.
The Danger answered Bemidji’s early score with three touchdowns and a pair of field goals and owned a 27-7 lead in the third quarter.
De’Markus Washington sliced the deficit to 27-13 when he scored on a kickoff return but the home team countered with a safety and another touchdown.
Warren Matthews Jr. scored on a pass reception for Bemidji in the fourth quarter but Nebraska still owned a comfortable 43-19 cushion and held the Axemen scoreless the rest of the way.
