Icy road causes accident

Icy road conditions came earlier than expected. Local law enforcement officials and the Bemidji Fire Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident at 10:28 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Highway 71 and Oak Hills Road South. A layer of ice on the road caused the vehicle carrying three passengers to spin off the highway and rollover onto a field. Two persons crawled out from the vehicle. One person was transported by ambulance to a nearby medical facility. No further information was given at the time. Pioneer Photo/Anne Williams
