Icy highway results in accident

The Minnesota Highway Patrol reported a property damage accident, which occurred at 2:01 p.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Fifth Street Northwest in Bemidji.

Stephanie R. Skipton, 18, of Guthrie, was driving a 2000 Ford pickup east in the right lane, and Thomas H. Gregerson, 40, of Cass Lake,was driving a 1994 White tractor trailer east in the left lane. Skipton lost control of her vehicle on the icy highway. Her pickup traveled into the left lane and struck the semi. The pickup then went into the median and struck the cable barrier.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and were uninjured.
