A motorcycle driven by John J. Hurla, 67, of Park Rapids, was westbound on state Highway 200 when it was rear-ended at the junction with U.S. Highway 71 by a 2001 International Straight Truck pulling a shredder trailer. The accident was reported at 2:43 p.m.

The State Patrol described the accident as a "serious injury" crash.

The report said the driver of the truck, Dylan M. Radke, 18, of Puposky, was not injured.

Hurla, who had been wearing a helmet, was taken to North Country Regional Hospital, which reported Wednesday afternoon that no information was available for release.

The motorcycle sustained severe damage; the truck sustained minor damage.

Assisting at the scene of the crash was the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
