Hubbard County investigates death of man found in Fish Hook River
PARK RAPIDS -- Hubbard County authorities are investigating the death of a 61-year-old man who was found in the Fish Hook River late Saturday afternoon.
The man was apparently pulled alive from the river near Hubbard and transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.
Sheriff Cory Aukes was in Cook County Monday and not available for phone calls due to poor cell reception.
All Aukes would say was that “it’s an interesting case.”
He would not characterize it as foul play, but the man was apparently well-known to authorities.
Monday afternoon Hubbard County investigators tried to launch a boat on the river north of the scene but were unable to get the motor started.
