Tips for news releases

Generally, please include the 5 Ws and H:

1 – Who: the name of the organization putting on the event

2 – What: details about what will happen at the event

3 – When: Time and date

4 – Where: Place of the event (specific address)

5 – Why: Is the event being put on for a specific reason? To benefit a group, raise awareness, educational?

6 – How: Can the public get involved and is there a cost?

In addition, please include a contact name and phone number in case we have questions or need more information.

News releases are most easily processed through email, which allows us to quickly work with the information.
