Home, Sport and Travel Show: Seminars pack Saturday schedule for show
BEMIDJI – Several seminars will be featured Saturday during the Bemidji Jaycees 36th Annual Home, Sport and Travel Show at the Sanford Center.
According to the Jaycees’ website, here’s the Saturday schedule.
11 a.m. – Sustainable Backyard Makeover by Keith Kinnen of Karvakko Engineering
Explore ways to turn that back yard into the oasis you have always wanted with sustainable practices. We will review the importance of sustainability and the benefits, look at examples and talk about how to implement them into your own landscape.
Noon – From TO-DO to TA-DA by Deb McGregor-Pfleger, a certified professional life coach with In the Light Coaching
This session will be a hands-on opportunity to prioritize your to-do list for this spring and summer, look at what you are saying yes and no to on that list, exploring which of these items brings you the most joy and fulfillment as well as making sure the essential “musts” are covered.
1 p.m. – Bicycle maintenance seminar by Sam Smith, owner of Itasca Sports Inc.
2 p.m. – Don’t Forget the Flowers! by Jill Bitker, master florist and owner of Netzers’ Bemidji Floral
Jill shares first-hand experiences she has had during her career as a florist and how flowers have changed the lives of those around her. She will create designs on stage to weave together with her story.
3 p.m. – Preliminary summary of the 2012 wolf season, presented by Brice Vollbrecht, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer, and Shelley Gorham, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Bemidji Area wildlife supervisor
Information on the Minnesota gray wolf (timberwolf), including its federal delisting, biology and management of the species by the DNR and a look at the preliminary results from the inaugural wolf season in 2012.
4 p.m. – Easy, Healthful Foods for an Active Lifestyle by Lisa Knights of Harmony Co-op
Lisa shares how you can spend more time doing the things you love such as hiking, biking or being on the water and spend less time cooking.
5 p.m. – Obedience and Behavioral Training for Dogs by Brian Bakken, owner/operator and certified master dog trainer with Wilderness Kennels
Seminar covers theories and proven concepts of dog training and how to build a line of communication between you and your pet. Please note that your own dog will not be allowed to attend.
