Ben Holter and Adam Holter went 3-1 in doubles play at the subsection boys tennis individual tournament Thursday and qualified for the section meet which will be Tuesday at St. Cloud Tech.
The Holters were seeded second in the sub-section and finished third.
In the first round Ben and Adam Holter blitzed Sam Burns and Gabe Steinwand of Moorhead 6-0, 6-0. They came close to duplicating that result in the second round as they ripped Mike Lengenfeld and Austin Stone of Alexandria 6-2, 6-0.
In the semifinals they faced Miles and Tyler Bates of St. Cloud Tech and dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision. That loss moved Bemidji into the third-place match where Adam and Ben Holter outlasted Jordan Goos and Jordan Posch of Brainerd 7-6 (15-13), 6-3.
On Tuesday the Holters will square off against the second seeded doubles team from the south sub-section.
Bemidji's other representatives at Thursday's sub-sections did not fare as well.
In singles action, Levi Rickert won his opener 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 over Thomas Polleries of St. Cloud Apollo but fell to top-seeded Tyler Almquist of Moorhead 6-0, 6-0 in the second round.
Joey Wood lost his only match Thursday, dropping a 6-0, 6-0 decision to third-seeded Riley Bates of Tech.
Bemidji's other doubles tandem of Kyle Fodness and Justin Byers fell in the first round 6-2, 6-0 to Miles and Tyler Bates.
