Al and Mary Jo Hoffarth of Cass Lake celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, Aug. 16. The couple celebrated their anniversary earlier in the summer during a trip to Chicago with their children and grandchildren. They also received a blessing at Mass at St. Philip's Church in Bemidji.

They were married Aug. 16, 1969, at St. Anthony's Parish in Fargo, N.D.
