HOCKEY: Harms participating in Jets' Development Camp
WINNIPEG — Bemidji State forward Brendan Harms’ freshman season put him on the radar around the college hockey world.
The Steinbach, Manitoba, native is participating the development camp of his hometown Winnipeg Jets all this week at the MTS Iceplex. The camp started Monday and runs through Friday.
Harms is one of 20 forwards and 37 players to participate in the five-day camp, which consists of on-ice and off-ice workouts and activities. The players in the camp are a mix of recent draftees — such as first-round pick Nikolaj Ehlers — as well as undrafted college and CHL players looking for a chance to get noticed.
Aside from Harms there are 14 other college players in Winnipeg this weekend, including fellow WCHA rivals Ralfs Freibergs of Bowling Green, Reid Sturos, Shane Hannah and Jamie Phillips of Michigan Tech and Blake Tatchell of Alaska Anchorage.
