HOCKEY: Bemidji High School grad Heller commits to Beavers
Bemidji High School graduate Jordan Heller is coming back home.
Heller, 19, announced earlier this week that he had committed to play college hockey for Bemidji State.
Heller is believed to be just the third BHS graduate who will suit up for the Beavers in BSU’s Division I era; the first was Brad Johnson.
The 6-foot, 185-pound forward shined last season playing for the Aberdeen Wings of the North American Hockey League. Last season Heller played in all 60 regular season games for Aberdeen, totaling nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points and had one game-winning goal.
The Wings are coached by former BSU captain Travis Winter.
This season, Heller has one assist through four games for Aberdeen.
At BHS, he finished his senior season in 2011-12 with 29 points in 24 games.
