The TIN PAN gALLErY at the Blackduck Area History and Art Center will feature talented photographer Joe Rossi with an artist reception June 12 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Rossi has worked as a newspaper photographer for 31 years including 24 years with the St. Paul Pioneer Press. In December of 2007, he formed Joe Rossi Photography, LLC and is now working as a freelance photographer.
His photos have appeared in numerous publications including the New York Times, San Jose Mercury News, Seattle Times, Sports Illustrated, Readers Digest, People Magazine, Stern, Time Magazine and The New Yorker.
He has also worked on several book projects and has been recognized with regional and national awards. He has family roots in the Blackduck/Rabideau Lake area. He and his wife, Judy, currently live in Bemidji but are planning to live in the greater Blackduck area in the near future.
Rossi's photo exhibit will show some of his nature photography, along with "Nature's Alphabet," a photography project he did for the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer. The photos will be on display through June 26.
The gallery/center is located at Main Street and Margaret Avenue in downtown Blackduck. Hours are 1-4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays.
