A project to improve the condition and safety of state Highway 219 from Highway 1 near Goodridge to the junction with Highway 89 west of Grygla gets underway today. Traffic will be detoured during the next several weeks while crews replace culverts and resurface the highway. The project also includes resurfacing of Highway 89 from Grygla to the junction with Highway 219.
Depending on weather, the milling and resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to start from Grygla on May 11 and proceed west to the junction with Highway 219, then south on Highway 219 to Highway 1.
Traffic will be detoured from the junction with Highway 89 and Highway 219 to Highway 89 east to Grygla, then south on Marshall County Road 54 and Pennington County Road 28, and west on Highway 1. Northbound traffic will use the same route in reverse.
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution throughout the state as construction work gets into full swing.
