Highway 2 work begins this week, motorists can expect minor delays

Motorists will encounter minor delays on a portion of U.S. Highway 2 east of Bemidji as a project to replace a culvert and resurface 4.4 miles of roadway gets underway.

According to a press release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation:

The exact location is from 0.6 miles west of the Beltrami/Hubbard county line to 3.8 miles east of the Beltrami/Hubbard county line.

Work began Monday on replacing the culvert in the eastbound lanes and bituminous milling and filling on the westbound lanes begins Tuesday.

Traffic is restricted to one lane in both directions with reduced speeds up to 50 mph and width restrictions during daylight hours.

Motorists are cautioned to be alert to flagging operations and heavy equipment.

The project is expected to be complete by July 28.
