High School sports: Opening baseball games postponed
Tuesday's blizzard took its toll on a number of sports events beginning with the Little Amik-II track meet.
It also has postponed both baseball and softball openers today.
The baseball team had been listed to host Brainerd while the softball team was to entertain West Fargo.
No makeup dates have yet been announced.
Saturday's softball game at Little Falls also has been postponed and rescheduled for April 20. The freshmen will entertain Thief River Falls that day in a double header.
Still on but likely to be postponed as well are Tuesday's baseball game with Grand Rapids and softball contest with Eveleth-Gilbert with the local diamonds buried under eight inches of new snow.
One change has been announced for the April 11 triangular with Sartell, Sauk Rapids and Moorhead.
With the BSU diamond in use by the Beavers, the Bemidji games have been shifted to the Arena diamond with the Jacks facing Sauk Rapids at 1 and Sartell at 4.
Moorhead's games with that pair have been moved to Sagedahl Field with the JV games shifted to the BYL diamonds.,
The softball team is listed to host Fergus Falls that day at 1.
Neither ball team has yet to set foot outdoors.
The track team, which will run at the Lions Invitational tomorrow, has been outside briefly once.
