Bemidji High School head football coach Troy Hendricks has been named the Section 7-4A Coach of the Year after guiding the Lumberjacks to the section crown.

This is the second consecutive year that Bemidji has won the section title and that Hendricks has earned the award.

"We have been able to win the section because of the kids," Hendricks said. "We are fortunate to have been able to work with a great group of kids and because of them we have been able to win two section titles.

"I also am fortunate to be surrounded with a talented," Hendricks continued. "The staff is very good and works hard. They help me put the kids in a position to succeed."

The Lumberjacks finished the regular season with a 7-1 record and defeated Hermantown 34-6 and Grand Rapids 33-18 on way to the 7-4A crown.

BHS ended the year with a loss to Rogers in the opening round of the state tournament. Rogers went on to claim second place in the state, losing to Totino-Grace in the title game.
