Helen Celia Stresnak, 102, of Blackduck, Minnesota, died, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Blackduck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Kelliher, MN with Fr. Raul Perez-Cobo officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the State Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Ripley, MN. Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born on May 21, 1911 in Holdingford, MN to Athanasins and Antonia (Wiezkowski) Dziubinski. She was raised in Holdingford and attended school there. She married Elmer J. Stresnak on Sept. 7, 1935 in Holdingford. They made their home in Avon, MN. Together, they owned and operated the Avon Barber Shop and Salon. They worked, side-by-side, for many years. Elmer was the barber and Helen the beautician. After retirement, they moved to Kelliher and resided there until she moved to the Good Samaritan Society in Blackduck.
She was a member for the American Legion Auxiliary and was active in the Catholic church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stresnak on Feb. 23, 1994; her parents; three brothers and a sister.
