Harlow “Dean” Anderson,71, of Bagley, MN died on August 20, 2013 at his residence at Bagley, MN.

In honor of Deans wishes, there will be no services. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted with the arrangements.

Dean was born on May 3, 1942 at Clearbrook, MN the son of Alfred and Manda (Sovick) Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Clearbrook where he was quite the athlete. He spent two years in Montana working at a ranch as a cowboy. He joined the Unites States Army in 1959 and was stationed in Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1960. Dean started working for Oglebay Norton on the Great Lakes and became a captain in 1980, retiring in 1997. Dean married Judy Redfield on January 5, 1991 at Minot, North Dakota. After Deans retirement, he and Judy raised Shires and Clydesdales. He was a member of the American Ameritine Officers Union. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in Colorado. He loved to raise horses, he loved old tractors and was a collector of antique farm and horse machinery. Dean loved his family and friends and life in general. He had a special place in his heart for animals of all kinds but especially his draft horses and dogs. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife – Judy Anderson of Bagley, MN

Son – Barron Anderson of Zimmerman, MN

Daughter – Terri Hanson of Clearbrook, MN

Daughter – Twila (Kevin) Grau of Florence, KY

Step-daughter – Ayn (Mike) Pavek of Fairbault, MN

Grandchildren – Derek and Dustin Hanson; Chelsie, John and Christie Edwards; Jarod and Carter Pavek

2 Great Grandchildren – Nathan and Lucas Tronnes

Sister – Donna Tronneson of Minot, ND

Sister – Sharon Shonteich of Broomfield, CO

Preceded in death by parents and first wife – Janice Evje
