Gulstad pleads guilty to sex crime
A 26-year-old Solway man has pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct in the third degree by force or coercion, a serious felony.
Bradley Scott Gulstad pleaded guilty to the charge on Tuesday. An additional charge of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, also a serious felony, will be dismissed when he is sentenced on March 31.
Gulstad was arrested after a woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Gulstad throughout a seven-year period beginning in 1996-97, according to the criminal complaint. She said the assaults began when she was about 10 years old.
Investigators with the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office took a taped statement from Gulstad on April 22 during which he acknowledged the assaults, but did not know the number of times he assaulted the woman, the complaint said.
Gulstad said he recalled giving the woman money to prevent her from telling anyone, the complaint said.
